All it took was one tweet.
Less than 24 hours later, a newly-opened doughnut shop in Missouri City, Texas is booming with customers.
Talk about the power of social media!
Billy By tweeted the photos Saturday of his dad, Saharith By, in an apparently empty doughnut shot, tweeting “My dad is really sad cause no one is coming to his new donut shop.”
Twitter came to the rescue, literally.
Twitter’s verified page picked up Billy’s tweet, saying “You donut want to miss out on Billy’s and neither do we! We’ll be there tomorrow morning #LoveTwitter.”
Word spread like wildfire and it wasn’t long before the doughnut shop sold out of donuts.
“You are all amazing. I can’t thank everyone enough for coming out and supporting local businesses. This means so much to my family,” Billy tweeted in a photo smiling alongside his father.
Twitter sent a team of employees to visit the doughnut shop and reportedly even paid for some of the sweet treats for other customers.
Looks like Billy’s doughnuts even got some bright yellow swag to match the color of the interior of the doughnut shop!
