Study: Americans spent $72 billion on pets in 2018

 America’s obsession with pets is costing us more than ever before. 

According to the American Pet Products Association, spending topped $72 billion in 2018. 

That’s up three percent from the year before. 

Most of the money went toward food – about $30 billion.

That was followed by vet care and over the counter medication.
