SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Police were aware of threats made against Acting Chief of Police Toney Chaplin through the use of social media on Saturday, July 16.

After an immediate investigation by the San Francisco Police Department Special Investigations Division, they identified and arrested a suspect two days later on the 2600 block of Ortega Street. 60-year-old Donald Eric Hoganson is in custody and has been formally booked.

Neighbors say he has been spewing hate for a very long time.

Hoganson is being charged for threatening a peace officer, threats with intent to terrorize, and stalking.
