Suspect who attacked conservative activist at UC Berkeley arrested

Police have arrested the suspect who allegedly attacked a conservative activist in February on University of California, Berkeley’s campus.

A student, Arda Erbil, captured dramatic video of the assault that happened on Feb. 19 at Sproul Plaza.

A man in a black t-shirt is seen shoving and yanking another person and grabbing at their cell phone.

After a brief face to face confrontation, the man is seen pulling back his arm and punching the victim in the face.

He’s then seen storming off.

Erbil says he saw two men hounding a conservative student recruitment table before it became violent.

“Then they started breaking the table, a lot of the objects and posters and all that,” said Erbil.

He says the table had a sign referencing Jussie Smollet.

The actor is accused of staging an attack against himself in Downtown Chicago last month.

Right wing organization Turning Point USA says this video shows “leftist violence against conservative student” Hayden Williams.

Williams is an activist who works with the leadership institute. He was helping Turning Point USA the day of the attack.

On Friday, officers arrested the suspect who’s been identified as Zachary Green.
