HAYWARD (KRON) — A power outage left 8,700 customers in Castro Valley, Hayward and Livermore in the dark Wednesday night.

PG&E crews are investigating the cause of a power outage that was first reported at 10:28 p.m.

Alameda County Fire officials reported on Twitter that an underground electrical vault explosion at Center Street and Grove Way in Castro Valley may have been the cause.

As of 1:18 a.m., all power has been restored.

PG&E officials said there was no estimated time on when power would be restored, however several personnel would remain in the field working to bring the power back on.

No injuries were reported.
