Thieves steal $12K worth of merch from Palo Alto Apple store in 20 seconds


Authorities in Palo Alto are reviewing surveillance footage after two suspects robbed an Apple Store of an estimated $12,000 worth of merchandise early Wednesday. 

According to police, it happened around 2 a.m. at the store located at 340 University Avenue. 

Police say the two suspects, who were dressed in dark clothing and wearing masks, were able to remove the glass front door to gain entry into the store. 

The two suspects spent a little over 20 seconds in the store, taking 7 laptops worth an estimated $12,000. 

The suspects had originally grabbed 9 laptops but dropped two of them as they were fleeing the store. 

Police have not released descriptions of the suspect. 

This particular store has been burglarized several times in the last 12 months, according to police. 

The investigation is ongoing.
