Vallejo elementary teacher arrested for allegedly trying to have sex with minor

An elementary school teacher was arrested in Vallejo Thursday for allegedly attempting to engage in sex with a minor, according to officials.

Andrew Lund is a teacher at Glen Cove Elementary, according to the school district.

However, he does not have a class with students. He helps the school with their curriculum, the district explained.

The Contra Costa DA says the investigation involved an undercover officer posing as a minor.

The officer and Lund started chatting and the investigation continued from there, according to the DA.

Lund was arrested on suspicion of attempting to send harmful material to a minor and attempting to engage in sex with a minor.

Officials say he has worked in Illinois, Wisconsin, San Diego and North Sacramento areas.

Lund is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility in lieu of $500,000 bail.

The Contra Costa District Attorney plans to file official charges on Friday, officials say.

The case did not involve any students from the school. However, authorities are still asking for any potential victims to come forward.
