Woman critically injured in San Francisco apartment fire


SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A woman is in the hospital in critical condition after fire broke out at an apartment building in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood early Tuesday morning, police said.

The fire was reported at 12:16 a.m. in the 200 block of Bay Street.

A neighbor heard a fire alarm and called building security, according to police.

A security guard saw flames through an apartment window, went inside the unit and pulled a 63-year-old woman out.

She was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

Arson is not suspected to be the cause of the fire.
