A mega-mansion in Woodside topped the list of the most expensive homes ever sold in California, according to a new report.
Most of the homes on the list compiled by Property Shark are in Los Angeles, but two Bay Area homes made the list.
Topping the list is a 9-acre trophy estate that was purchased in 2012 for $117.5 million by Masayoshi Son, Japan’s richest man.
The Woodside estate, which includes a detached library, formal gardens, a tennis court, is one of the all-time most expensive residential transactions in U.S. history.
A 25,000-square-foot Los Altos mansion tied for the third spot on the list.
The 18-acre estate was purchased by Russian tech investor, Yuri Milner, for $100 million.
Other notable homes on the list belong to Beyoncé and Jay-Z and Formula-1 heiress Petra Ecclestone.
