The Celtics stepped in quickly when word that Jrue Holiday was on the trade market and struck a deal to bring the former Bucks guard to town, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Holiday, who was formerly with the Bucks, was traded to the Blazers as part of the Damian Lillard deal, and now will team up with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
The deal will send Malcolm Brogdon, Robert Williams, a 2024 first-round pick from the Warriors and a 2029 unprotected pick from Boston to Portland in exchange for Holiday, per Wojnarowski.
For Portland, the move sending Holiday to Boston adds to the overall package they’ve been able to net in exchange for Lillard after dealing him to Milwaukee, as ESPN’s Bobby Marks detailed.
